LAPD Officers Crash Into Each Other On Way To DTLA Stolen Vehicle Call

The officers were on their way to provide backup during a stolen vehicle investigation, according to a report from the scene.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were injured Thursday when the cruisers they were in collided while responding to a call in Downtown Los Angeles.

The crash occurred about 2:05 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, which reported that both officers complained of pain.

The officers were on their way to provide backup during a stolen vehicle investigation, according to a report from the scene.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and took both officers to a hospital in two basic lifesaving ambulances, according to the LAFD.

The officers were in fair condition when transported, a department spokeswoman said.
