At Least 5 Dead, Several Hurt In Fiery Windsor Hills Crash: Reports

Four adults and an infant died in a fiery crash in Windsor Hills, according to reports.

WINDSOR HILLS, CA —Four adults, including a pregnant woman and an infant, died in a fiery crash in Los Angeles County, according to reports.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on La Brea Avenue, near Slauson Avenue, in unincorporated Windsor Hills, multiple media outlets reported. An unborn child also died in the crash.

At least two vehicles reportedly caught fire and smoke could be seen above LAX, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A SigAlert issued around 3 p.m. said all lanes were blocked in both directions due to police activity on La Brea Ave South between Overhill Drive and Stocker and 62nd streets.

As many as six vehicles collided after a speeding Mercedes-Benz coup careened into multiple vehicles on South La Brea Avenue, sparking a fireball, the Los Angeles County Fire Department told City News Service.

Paramedics initially said between five and seven people were hurt. Multiple people were thrown from vehicles, CNS reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Video posted on social media showed two charred and mangled vehicles resting near a traffic light, and a third vehicle with major damage. The crash happened in front of a gas station.
