LOS ANGELES, CA — Rapper Lil Nas X was charged Monday with battery against a police officer in connection to an incident last week in which he was arrested after walking naked down a San Fernando Valley street.

The 26-year-old "Old Town Road" singer, whose real name is Montero Hill, pleaded not guilty Monday to three felony counts of battery against a police officer and a single count of resisting arrest, according to court records. The rapper had charged at officers, TMZ reported.

His bail was set at $75,000 and he was directed to return to court Sept. 15, when a hearing will be scheduled to determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.

He was released on $75,000 bond shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, according to jail records.

If convicted as charged, Hill faces up to five years in state prison, according to the District Attorney's Office.

In a statement released shortly after the charges were filed, District Attorney Nathan Hochman said, "Attacking police officers is more than just a crime against those individuals but a direct threat to public safety. Anyone who assaults law enforcement will face serious consequences, no matter who they are or how famous they may be."

The incident was captured on video obtained by TMZ, which reported the rapper was spotted walking down Ventura Boulevard in Studio City at around 4 a.m. Thursday.

In the video, Hill is seen wearing only underwear and cowboy boots. He repeatedly points to the camera, mentions that he was heading to a party and at one point puts an orange traffic cone on his head.

TMZ posted a new video over the weekend that revealed more from the bizarre incident: The new clip shows the rapper walking down the middle of the street fully naked — having shed the underwear and boots.

Those size-13 boots were snatched up from the street by one of the people who recorded the incident and are currently listed on eBay with an asking price of $10,000, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Hill was arrested at around 6 a.m. Thursday after police took him to the hospital for a possible overdose, the Times reported. He was being held without bail.
