BEL AIR, CA — Authorities identified a man arrested Monday after allegedly ramming his vehicle through the front gate of actress Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, was arrested shortly before 12:30 p.m. Monday on suspicion of felony vandalism, according to the LAPD. Carwyle was detained by Aniston's private security guards soon after he crashed through the gate, LAPD Officer Jeffrey Lee told Patch. The incident happened in the 900 block of Airole Way.

Police initially thought the suspect was a man in his 70s.

"Around 12:20 p.m., the LAPD officers were called to Airole Way for a burglar suspect there now," said LAPD Officer Jeffrey Lee. "It was reported that a male white suspect in his 70s crashed through the gate of the residence in his vehicle, and gained access to the property but was quickly apprehended by private security and detained until LAPD officers arrived."

The "Friends" star was home at the time of the incident.

Carwyle was injured in the crash with the gate and taken for medical treatment before being booked at LAPD's Van Nuys jail.

As of Tuesday, he was being held without bail at the Los Angeles County jail reception center, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday.

Authorities are investigating Carwyle,'s background and whether he was targeting the 56-year-old star of "The Morning Show" and films such "Along Came Polly" and "Horrible Bosses."
