Man Shot In DTLA High-Rise Robbery

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was taken to a hospital Friday in critical condition following an attempted armed robbery and shooting at a high-rise apartment building in downtown Los Angeles.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Spring Street shortly before 2:10 p.m. regarding a report of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the location and took the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

Detectives described the suspect as a man in his 20s last seen wearing a dark navy blue shirt and a yellow hat.
KCAL reported that police presumed the suspect had a getaway driver waiting for him and fled in a black newer-model Mercedes-Benz SUV, which is commonly referred to as a "G-Wagon."

Late Friday afternoon, the station showed footage of police surrounding a home in Burbank where a similar vehicle was parked. A woman was detained at the scene and was being questioned by officers.
