Man Shot And Killed At Venice Dog Park, Gunman At Large

Police are looking for a suspect who left his car nearby and fled on foot.

VENICE, CA — A man was shot and killed at a Venice dog park late Wednesday night, and his killer remains at large, police said on Thursday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the Westminster Dog Park at 1234 Pacific Avenue at 10:19 p.m. in response to gunfire, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.

An unknown male victim in his 30s was found in the dog park parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, Im said. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics declared the victim dead at the scene.

The suspect, a shooter approximately 40-years-old, fled on foot, said Im.

"Officers located the suspect's vehicle nearby and door-knocked his residence with negative results," added Im.

Officers remained on the scene investigating Thursday.

Police are not yest releasing the identity of the victim or the suspect, and they have not said what the motive for the shooting may have been.
