Man Stabbed On Metro Bus, Suspect Arrested

A man suspected of a brutal stabbing on a Metro bus was arrested Saturday in Silver Lake.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man suspected of a brutal stabbing on a Metro bus was arrested Saturday in Silver Lake.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division were called to the 2700 block of West Sunset Boulevard near Benton Way at 1:36 a.m. Saturday regarding a person being stabbed, authorities said.

An elderly male passenger was stabbed by another male passenger during an argument, according to Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo. The Metro Line 4 bus was going westbound on Sunset, Ubaldo said.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Los Angeles General Medical Center in stable condition, he said, adding that the suspect was arrested by LAPD officers.

"Metro extends its sympathies to the victim," he said.

Video footage from KeyNews.TV showed police arresting the suspect near the scene and Los Angeles Fire Department personnel loading the man into an ambulance, with a pool of blood in the well of the bus.
