LOS ANGELES — For the second day in a row, human remains were found in a vehicle at a tow yard in Los Angeles, according to police.

Officers responded around noon Tuesday to the 1900 block of Gage Avenue in South Los Angeles, police said. The Honda Civic containing the remains was at Al’s Towing, an official police garage.

The body was partially burned and the Civic was towed Aug. 25, two law enforcement sources who were not authorized to discuss the investigation told the Los Angeles Times, which reported the vehicle is tied to a missing person report and separate from the remains found Monday.

Those were discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla that was towed Friday — after being parked on a public street for over three days — to a police garage in the 1000 block of North Mansfield Avenue in Hollywood, according to police.

After it was impounded, workers at the tow yard reported a strong odor coming from the car, leading to the discovery of the remains.
