📰 Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:

  1. On Saturday afternoon, just a few hours after hosting a gun buyback event in the area, nearby Royal Palms Beach saw a shooting that injured five. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Harbor Division responded to a beach barbecue of about 25 people that was upset by two suspects. Five people were hit, and the suspects fled. (CNN)
  2. Two suspects robbed a UCLA staff member who was walking in the 1100 block of Westwood Boulevard Sunday morning before 6 a.m. The suspects pulled up in a “red, two-door, 2018 or newer model Chevrolet Camaro with a black hood and hard top,” aimed a gun, and “took a cellphone, wallet and backpack.” (Patch)
  3. North Hollywood High School at 5231 Colfax Avenue won bragging rights on Saturday! Its Team A won the regional competition of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Science Bowl XXXI. Nineteen schools from within the Los Angeles Unified School District area sent a total of 170 science students to represent. Team A is now headed to D.C. to represent the city at the National Science Bowl, put on by the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science. And North Hollywood’s Team B? They came in second! Rounding out the top three is Harvard Westlake High School. Well done! (Daily News)
  4. “Desperate Housewives” actor Eva Longoria is selling her eight-bedroom mansion for $22.888 million. The 1.42-acre estate was listed Friday. It’s noteworthy that she reportedly bought the property in 2017 for $13.5 million. So, if that spare cash is burning a hole in your wallet, you could have an 11,000-square-foot mansion, “a tennis court and viewing area, and a pool and cabana.” (Mansion Global)
  5. We learned on Monday that La Troca Catracha is the only Honduran food truck currently operating in Los Angeles — and you can find it in Koreatown. If you’re as surprised as I am by this news, head to 3540 Wilshire Boulevard Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Baleadas are a hit, whether served with mantequilla rala, carne asada or scrambled eggs.
