Suspect Dead, Another At-Large After LA Officer-Involved Shooting
The shooting happened at 6:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of North Amethyst Street.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- One suspect was shot dead and police are looked for another suspect, in connection with an officer-involved shooting Sunday in Lincoln Heights. A handgun was recovered at the location said Officer Rosario Herrera of the LAPD's Media Relations Division.
Officers were dispatched about 6:30 a.m. to the 3400 block of North Amethyst Street in response to a report of a man possibly armed with a gun, Herrera said.
A suspect was struck by gunfire and died at the scene. Police are looking for a second suspect, said Herrera, adding that she had no other immediate information.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 6:44 a.m. and transported no one to any area hospitals, said Amy Bastman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No officers were injured, Herrera said.

The location is in the hills east of Lincoln Park.
