Paving For Pizza: Domino's Helps Repair Potholes In Burbank

The national pizza chain is donating money to cities to help repair potholes so that pizzas don't get ruined when they leave the store.

BURBANK, CA -- A Los Angeles County city is one of the beneficiaries of a new program by national pizza chain Domino's Pizza focused on repairing potholes so that pizzas aren't hurt. Domino's Pizza announced Monday that the city of Burbank, along with three other cities, received funding to help repair the roads.

In a press release, the company said "Cracks, bumps, potholes and other road conditions can put good pizzas at risk after they leave the store."

Dubbed the "Paving for Pizza" program, the company hopes to help make the ride home smooth for its pizzas.

"Have you ever hit a pothole and instantly cringed?" said Russell Weiner, president of Domino's USA. "We know that feeling is heightened when you're bringing home a carryout order from your local Domino's store. We don't want to lose any great-tasting pizza to a pothole, ruining a wonderful meal. Domino's cares too much about its customers and pizza to let that happen."

Any customers who believe their cities need a paving grant can enter the zip code at pavingforpizza.com. If their town is selected, the customer will be notified and the city will receive funds to help repair roads so pizzas make it home safely.
