Pedestrian Struck On 210 Freeway, Lanes Shut Down

A pedestrian was struck by a motorist on the 210 Freeway Thursday morning.

MONROVIA, CA — Multiple lanes of the 210 Freeway were shut down Thursday morning after a motorist struck a person who was walking on the interstate, according to a Sigalert.

Three lanes of the eastbound freeway were shut down at Myrtle Avenue in Monrovia.

Motorists had reported someone was on the freeway yelling at passing cars prior to being struck. The Sigalert indicated the collision occurred in the carpool lane.

Traffic was at a standstill as a result and backed up for several miles between Myrtle Avenue and Baldwin Avenue as of 10:50 a.m. Authorities warned motorists to expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

By 11:20 a.m., all lanes of the freeway were reopened.

Authorities did not release information about the pedestrian's condition.
