Police Exchange Gunfire With Man, Killing Him In Reseda
A handgun was recovered from the scene and booked as evidence, according to police.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Police exchanged gunfire with a man in Reseda Sunday, killing him.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the officer-involved shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when an armed man shot at officers who confronted him in the 6400 block of Reseda Boulevard, near Victory Boulevard.
"As (officers) arrived to the area of the call, they spotted the suspect, described as a male adult , run into an apartment complex on Victory (Boulevard) near the intersection of Reseda (Boulevard)," the LAPD stated.

An airship overhead reported the man appeared to fire a gun at it, then ran to an alley behind the apartment complex, according to the police statement.
The gunfire exchange with officers happened in that alley, where the suspect was shot and declared dead at the scene, the LAPD stated. No officers were injured.

A preliminary investigation revealed there were no signs the airship was struck by gunfire, according to the LAPD.
