On June 5, PUC Community Charter Early College High School (PUC CCECHS) of Lakeview Terrace hosted its annual commencement ceremony at the PUC Schools Sylmar Complex, celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2025 in a packed auditorium filled with proud families, friends, and educators.
The event featured a lineup of meaningful speeches and heartfelt reflections. Mr. Horvat, a faculty member chosen by the senior class, delivered the traditional PUC CCECHS “Last Lecture,” offering advice, memories, and encouragement as students prepare to step into the next chapter of their lives.
Dr. Concepción Rivas, CEO of PUC Schools, also a powerful message on leadership, resilience, and the importance of giving back to the community with the graduating class. “Class of 2025, you are entering the next step of your journey as you graduate from high school into university,” Dr. Hernandez said. “Your story is just beginning. We hope your teachers and staff have inspired you over the years to uplift your Lakeview Terrace community now and forever.”
Valedictorian Sydney Chavez then delivered a standout address to her peers, reflecting on her peers’ class journey. Chavez’s valedictorian honors nods to a unique family legacy, as she became the third sibling in her family to receive top-of-class honors at CCECHS — following in the footsteps of a sister valedictorian and a sister salutatorian.
