LOS ANGELES — As the weekend wraps, we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into SoCal's other top stories: Forecasters are tracking a shift in the weather that could spell rain and cooler temps later in the week — but first, things will warm up, and gusty winds could enhance fire danger.

According to the National Weather Service, by midweek afternoon highs could even trend a little warmer than usual for this time of the year, but the back half of the week may be a different story.

"Strengthening high pressure over the southwestern United States will lead to a general warming trend through Wednesday," NWS forecasters wrote Sunday. "Night and morning clouds will become more confined to the coast and western valleys through Tuesday. A pattern change by late week leads to cooler temperatures, increasing onshore flow, a deeper marine layer and slight chances for rain."

Catching up on other headlines from the weekend: Police allege a woman stabbed a Riverside County mother several times after being confronted about doing drugs near a child's bedroom. In San Diego County, one local leader says aid groups are overwhelmed as thousands of migrants are dropped off at transit stations with no place to go.
