Reported Cries For Help Spark Search In LA Mountains, But No One Found
Rescuers mounted a search Tuesday for someone who was heard crying out for help near a Santa Monica Mountains hiking trail.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Rescuers mounted a search Tuesday for someone who was heard crying out for help near a hiking trail in Tarzana, but the effort ended with no victim found.
A mountain biker reported hearing, but not seeing, someone they believed to be an older person repeatedly crying out for help Tuesday morning near Caballero Canyon Trail, north of Mulholland Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department
Ground and air crews responded to the area after 8 a.m. to conduct a search of the remote terrain, according to the LAFD.

"Following a comprehensive and systematic search by ground and air of remote mountain terrain on and near the Caballero Canyon Trail north of Mulholland Drive — in which no person was found, LAFD responders have formally concluded their mountain area search," the LAFD said.
No other hikers or bicyclists in the area reported hearing a person's distress call and authorities received no reports of any person missing in the area, authorities said.
