Sepulveda Pass Fire Map: See 405 Fire Perimeter, Evacuation Map
A 40-acre fire burning near the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass area threatened homes overnight.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A 40-acre fire broke out alongside the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass area Wednesday night, triggering an evacuation warning for residents in the Bel-Air, Brentwood area.
Crews were able to stop the forward progress of the blaze, lifting the evacuation warning by 2 a.m.
As of 11:42 p.m., an evacuation warning was issued for the residents south of 1500 block of Casiano Road, north of Moraga Drive, east of Sepulveda Boulevard and west of Chalon Road.

Ground and air crews were on the scene.
The fire was burning quickly amid dense brush north of the Getty Center near Bel-Air. The wind was mild — topping out at 15 mph — as the blaze broke out, but wind gusts picked up throughout the morning, according to the National Weather Service.

An evacuation warning means residents should be prepared to evacuate within a moment's notice.
The California Highway Patrol had issued a SigAlert for the 405 Freeway. Both the Getty Off-ramp and the Sepulveda Boulevard off-ramp were closed, according to the CHP.
