Shooting Victim Forced To Withdraw Cash, Shot While Trying To Escape In Pasadena

Two Orange County residents were arrested and charged in connection with the incident, Pasadena police said.

PASADENA, CA — A man and woman from Orange County are accused of robbing a man at gunpoint, forcing him to withdraw money from ATMs and shooting the victim when he tried to flee in Pasadena.

The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. on April 25 on the 100 block of East Holly Street near Memorial Park. The victim was transported to a local hospital and received surgery for his injuries. He survived, the Pasadena Police Department said Tuesday.

Detectives "learned that the victim was lured to the city on a false pretense and robbed of jewelry and other valuables at gunpoint by two suspects," police said.

The suspects drove the victim to several ATMs and was forced to withdraw money under the threat of harm. The suspects shot him when he attempted to escape and ran from the vehicle, police said.

Marissa Monique Sanchez, 25, and Roman Isael Salgado, 23, both of San Juan Capistrano, were arrested on July 17 in Mission Viejo, police said.

Sanchez has since been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office with felony robbery. Salgado was charged with felony counts of attempted murder, kidnapping to commit another crime, and robbery, according to police.
