SigAlert: LAPD Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down 105 Freeway

Commuters are advised to avoid the area and expect long delays on the Century (105) Freeway Friday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle officer crashed on the Century (105) Freeway in the Lynwood area Friday night, shutting down all eastbound lanes for at least an hour.

The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway between the Long Beach (710) Freeway/Garfield Ave and Paramount Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol has shut down all lanes, and they are expected to remain closed for at least an hour as of 8 p.m.

Commuters were advised to avoid the area as the closure has backed up traffic for miles.

The extent of the officer's injuries weren't immediately known.
