SigAlert: I-5 Lanes Closed For Hours Due To Semi Crash: Police

LOS ANGELES — Multiple lanes of northbound Interstate 5 at Lankershim Boulevard were blocked Tuesday morning in Sun Valley after a crash involving a semitrailer, according to preliminary reports from California Highway Patrol.

Initial reports said there were multiple vehicles involved in the collision, which occurred around 4 a.m. in Sun Valley and included a semitrailer that was on its side and blocking lanes.

All lanes were stopped and traffic was being diverted at Penrose Street, although lanes had begun to reopen as of roughly 5:30 a.m., according to police.

The SigAlert was extended for another two hours as of 7:42 a.m., with three lanes still blocked, police said.
