Some Hollywood Bowl Ticket Prices To Increase In 2022

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved ticket-price increases for the 2022 Hollywood Bowl season, citing increased production, labor, marketing and artists' costs.

Most of the increases amount to $1 or $2 per seat, while prices in the lowest-cost section will remain the same, and some prices will go down. However, concertgoers paying for the highest-priced garden and pool circle boxes will see hikes of up to $9 on weekends and $11 for special event tickets.

Supervisor Sheila Kuehl said the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, which operates the iconic amphitheater, had done its best to keep most seats affordably priced.

"Even though they lost a lot over the pandemic, they worked very hard to retain the affordability of the tickets and, indeed, keep it available to everybody," Kuehl said.

This is the first price increase since 2019. In a letter to the board, the Department of Parks and Recreation said the new ticket prices are competitive with similar county venues.

Forty percent of all tickets will be priced at $35 or less, and more than a quarter of classical concert seats will be priced at $17 or less.

The association will nearly triple the number of $1 tickets during classical performances on Tuesday and Thursday nights, offering the low rate for a total of 1,052 seats.

The new ticket prices range up to $228 for the best seats on a Saturday night and as much as $384 for pool circle and garden box seats at special events.

Special events are non-subscription performances for which higher prices can be charged.

"Many artists have fees so high that even if we sold every seat at our current Saturday night price, we would not be able to pay their fee," according to an exhibit to the board letter.

Parking rates will remain the same, with a minimum of $5 and a maximum of $55 for valet service.
