Sparks Fly As Freeway Pursuit Ends in Arrest in East Los Angeles

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — One person is in custody Wednesday after leading police on a chase that began in Riverside and ended in East Los Angeles.
Riverside Police Department began chasing a suspect in a pickup traveling on the westbound Pomona (60) Freeway near the Orange (57) Freeway exchange just before midnight, ABC 7 reported.
At some point during the pursuit, the vehicle lost a tire and continued traveling on three wheels, video footage of the chase showed, with sparks flying as the truck sped down the 60 Freeway.

The pursuit continued into East Los Angeles, where the truck eventually came to a stop near the westbound 60 Freeway and the Long Beach (710) Freeway. The suspect then ran away, but was later captured by police.
It was not immediately known why the suspect fled or why police began pursuing them.
