Stolen Plane Recovered At San Gabriel Valley Airport

A plane reported stolen from one airport was found at another about 15 miles away, police said.

EL MONTE, CA — Police in El Monte recovered an airplane that was reported stolen from another Los Angeles County airport early Monday morning.

The Cessna aircraft had been stolen from an airport in La Verne sometime early Monday, prompting an alert to local law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the plane, according to a social media post Monday morning by the El Monte Police Department.

El Monte officers responded by checking for the plane at the San Gabriel Valley Airport, which is located within the city's borders. That's where they found the aircraft, police said.
