Swing into Fall
Jazz Artist Deborah Silver Brings Basie Rocks! to Southern California

Hailed by the late, great Quincy Jones as “one of the most dynamic performers in contemporary jazz", Billboard-topping jazz artist Deborah Silver is bringing her signature glamour and swing back to Southern California this fall with a series of electrifying performances.
Jones called Ms. Silver "the real deal" and she proves it in her latest album, Basie Rocks!, a dazzling collaboration with the legendary Count Basie Orchestra. The recording reimagines rock and pop classics from The Beatles, Elton John, Peter Frampton, Steve Miller, and The Eagles, transforming them into bold big-band showcases. At the same time, the album breathes new life into timeless standards from the Great American Songbook. With her unmistakable flair, Silver makes songs like “Bennie and the Jets,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” and “Every Breath You Take” swing in ways audiences have never heard before.

While the Count Basie Orchestra will not be accompanying Ms. Silver at the Southern California shows, fans are sure to be captivated by her powerhouse vocals and radiant stage presence. She blends storytelling with timeless swing, turning each performance into an immersive experience that leaves audiences charmed and deeply moved.

On Wednesday, September 17, at 8:30 PM, Deborah Silver headlines the iconic Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood, a venue she calls one of her all-time favorites. “There is nothing like Tinseltown magic! Having spent many years of my life in LA, it’s always a treat to perform there and particularly Catalina Jazz Club. I’m eager to swing the room with both old and new friends!” Silver shares.
Adding extra star power to the evening, the night will include special appearances by American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin and renowned music director Michael Orland.

Silver will then take her sparkling artistry to Palm Springs, where she will perform two shows at the Purple Room Supper Club on Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, both at 6:00 PM.

“My gay fans in Palm Springs always tell me I remind them of Karen Walker from Will & Grace!” Silver laughs. “The bubbly personality, the fabulous sparkle and the sass, the costumes, the big hair. I love her, too, so I take it as a compliment!"
The only twist is that instead of martini-soaked one-liners, Ms. Silver belts out jazzy tunes.
With Basie Rocks! and her upcoming performances, Deborah Silver proves once again that jazz isn’t just timeless; it’s rocking harder than ever.
