Teen Suspect Shoots Man During Attempted Robbery: LAPD
A boy, believed to be 16 or 17, shot a man during an attempted robbery, police said.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was wounded when he tried to flee an alleged armed robber in his vehicle in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles, authorities said Saturday.
The shooting occurred at 10:30 p.m. Friday at Figueroa Terrace and College Street, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center told City News Service.
The 18-year-old victim was parked in his vehicle when a van pulled up next to him and the suspect — a boy believed between 16-17 years old — pointed a handgun at him, the officer said. The suspect demanded property.

The victim took off in his vehicle and the suspect fired shots, wounding him, the officer said. The victim was able to drive himself to a hospital where he had stable vital signs.
