LOS ANGELES — The body of Celeste Rivas, the teen found dead and dismembered in an abandoned Tesla owned by musician D4vd, had been frozen or refrigerated, multiple news outlets reported this weekend, citing sources tied to the investigation.

All of Rivas’ body parts were “partially frozen” and thawing in the Tesla, TMZ reported, adding the medical examiner may not be able to determine a cause of death. Investigators have enlisted outside experts as they explore the development, according to Rolling Stone.

Rivas' body was found inside the front trunk of the Tesla — registered in Texas to D4vd — on Sept. 8 at a Hollywood tow yard, according to authorities. Rivas was reported as a runaway in April 2024 from Lake Elsinore. She was 13 at the time.

The Tesla had been abandoned near a residence on Doheny Place in the Hollywood Hills, not far from a home where the singer — whose real name is David Anthony Burke — had lived.

NBC Los Angeles reported last week that Burke has been identified as a suspect, with a law enforcement source telling the outlet that Burke had not been cooperative and that the death likely happened in the spring.

TMZ previously reported that the girl's mother confirmed Celeste had a tattoo of the word "Shhh..." on her finger, a detail noted in the Medical Examiner's report. She also said her daughter's boyfriend was named "David." The singer has a similar tattoo.

Burke was on the last leg of a U.S. tour when Rivas' body was discovered. Several shows were cancelled, including one that had been scheduled at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre.
