These Are The Best Private High Schools In LA County, New Ranking Says

While Los Angeles County is home to many highly ranked public school districts, many families choose a private institution for their child's high school education.

According to the 2026 Best Private High Schools in America list recently released by the education ranking service Niche, the best private high school in Los Angeles County is Oak Crest Academy in Pomona.

"We’ve had such a thrilled experience at OCA. The teachers truly care and give our child the attention and support needed to succeed. We’ve seen real growth in confidence, academics, and independence. We’re so thankful to be part of this school community!" one parent wrote in a Niche review.

The other top 10 private high schools in LA County, in the order ranked, are:

• Windward School — Mar Vista
• Flintridge Preparatory School — La Cañada Flintridge
• Harvard-Westlake School — Studio City
• Marlborough School — Hancock Park
• Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences — Santa Monica
• Sierra Canyon School — Chatsworth
• Chadwick School — Palos Verdes Peninsula
• Westridge School — Pasadena
• Brentwood School — Brentwood

Niche also released its best public high schools and best public school district rankings.

Niche said its rankings, now in the 11th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
