'Trans Lives Matter' Photos From Netflix Dave Chappelle Walkout

LOS ANGELES, CA — A group of about 30 Netflix employees walked off the job Wednesday morning, saying a Dave Chappelle special contained anti-transgender comments.

Ashlee Marie Preston organized the event, and spoke to the Associated Press following the rally of about 100 people — most of which opposed the anti-transgender comments made by the comedian in his special.

“It was important to shift the focus to the people that sign the checks, because Dave Chappelle doesn’t sign checks, Netflix does,” Preston said to the AP. “If we have companies like Netflix who aren’t listening to their employees, who are forcing their employees to participate in their own oppression, that’s unacceptable.”
