Vegetation Fire Breaks Out At Elysian Park Wednesday Morning

Firefighters and park rangers worked together to extinguish the fire before any buildings were damaged.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters extinguished a small fire that broke out on a remote trail in Elysian Park Wednesday morning. The fire started around 9:13 a.m. near the southbound 5 freeway and Stadium Way, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD ground crews and park rangers quickly confined the fire and then extinguished it at 9:47 a.m. The fire was described as a "mid-slope vegetation fire" on a remote hillside trail.

No injuries or structural damage were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
