Wedding Crasher Who Stole $60K From Newlyweds Arrested, Police Say

The man and his getaway driver were both arrested, according to police.

GLENDALE, CA — Two men were recently arrested in connection with the theft of about $60,000 in cash and dozens of checks from a newlywed couple at their wedding reception last month in Glendale, according to police.

Armean Shirehjini of Sherman Oaks stole the money shortly after midnight Aug. 31 at the Renaissance Banquet Hall in the 1200 block of South Central Avenue and Andranik Avetisyan of Los Angeles was the getaway driver, police said.

The pair was arrested Thursday, according to police, who said Shirehjini had a handgun at the time. Detectives executed search warrants at the men's homes, which revealed a large amount of cash, dozens of checks made out to the victims, several guns and various narcotics, police said.
