Woman Fatally Shot On Metro Bus Near LAX
The suspected gunman fled the scene on foot and remained at large Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
LOS ANGELES, CA — An 18-year-old woman was fatally shot aboard a Metro bus in the Westchester area of Los Angeles while trying to break up an argument between her boyfriend and another man, authorities said Saturday.
The suspected gunman, a 20-year-old man, fled the scene on foot and remained at large Saturday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting occurred at about 10:50 p.m. Friday at Manchester and Belford avenues, LAPD Officer Drake Madison told City News Service. The victim was shot after intervening in an argument between her boyfriend and the gunman, the LAPD's Media Relations Division reported.

"A bus operator headed eastbound on Metro Bus Line 115 near LAX heard gunshots from the rear of the bus and immediately stopped allowing all passengers to exit," Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo said. "One passenger was found injured and transported to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries."
