Woman Struck, Killed By LA Metro Train

A woman was fatally struck by a Metro train in Los Angeles late Friday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A homeless woman was struck by a Metro A Line train and killed in the downtown area of Los Angeles.

The fatal crash occurred at 11:46 p.m. Friday on East Washington Boulevard at Maple Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.

The 35 to 40-year-old woman was crossing East Washington Boulevard outside of a crosswalk when she was struck, he said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.
