• Backyard burning, Cuesta Inlet sale update, and Cal Poly's new head football coach (ksby.com) — Los Osos residents have officially become the owners of the Cuesta Inlet after a successful community fundraising campaign, ensuring continued public access for kayaking, dog walking, and shoreline visits. The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County will manage the inlet to protect habitat while keeping it open, alongside other regional updates on burning rules, emergency facilities, and Cal Poly football.
   

• Los Osos home construction case heads to the California Supreme Court (ksby.com) — A long-running dispute over whether four remaining homes can be built in Los Osos is now before the California Supreme Court, with a decision expected within about 90 days. Justices will decide if the California Coastal Commission had authority to overturn county-approved permits near the Los Osos Wastewater Project, a ruling that could shape future development and environmental oversight in the community.
