1 Injured After Car Crashes Into Water Barrel On 405 Freeway: SigAlert

The crash was reported at 8:21 a.m. on Interstate 405 near Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach, the California Highway Patrol said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — At least one person was injured after a car hit a water barrel on the Interstate 405 southbound and crashed into the freeway's center divider in Seal Beach Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 8:21 a.m. on the freeway near Seal Beach Boulevard, and resulted in a half-hour long SigAlert, according to CHP logs. At least two other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The crash initially closed three lanes on the freeway. As of 8:55 a.m., two lanes were reopened. The status of the injured person is not known.

Residents were advised to steer clear of the area while the SigAlert is in place.
