Brush Fire Breaks Out Along Freeway In Seal Beach
A brush fire broke out along a freeway in Seal Beach on Thursday.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A brush fire broke out along a freeway transition road in Seal Beach Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fire was reported at about 1:19 p.m. on both sides of the transition road from Interstate 405 to Interstate 605 North. The fire grew in the small area, lighting palm trees on fire, the CHP said.
The transition road was blocked until further notice. Lanes on I-405 north were also shut down during the fire.

Crews gained control of the fire within 45 minutes and kept it contained to the 1 acre area, an Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson told Patch. Forward progress has stopped, but road closures on the freeways remained.
Drivers were advised to expect delays.

Warnings for critical fire risk due to high winds are in effect though Friday morning for inland areas of Orange County, according to the National Weather Service.
