A large coral tree fell at the Greenbelt in Seal Beach over the weekend following strong winds, a city official reported.
The coral tree, located on the corner of Seal Beach Boulevard and Electric Avenue adjacent to a city wastewater pump station, fell onto a section of the Greenbelt but did not damage any property or result in any injuries, according to assistant city manager Sean Crumby.
"It basically broke in half from the winds over the weekend," Crumby said. "We put caution tape around it and it's scheduled to be removed sometime this week."
Crumby said he did not know the exact date of the tree's removal.
