E-Bike Enforcement Operation In Seal Beach Sees Success

The coordinated operation was held on Sunday, Sept. 28 by the Seal Beach Police Department.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The City of Seal Beach is cracking down on illegal e-bike riding, after the city's police department led a coordinated e-bike enforcement operation throughout the city.

According to Seal Beach Police Department Chief Michael Henderson, the mission was led to ensure compliance with California e-bike laws and local municipal codes while prioritizing community safety.

"E-bikes are becoming more popular across our community, but with that growth comes safety concerns," Henderson told Patch. "Our priority is keeping riders, pedestrians, and drivers safe. By combining education with enforcement, we are addressing unsafe behaviors and helping our residents better understand the laws designed to protect them."
