Free Comic Book Day 2022: Where To Get Free Comics Near Seal Beach

SEAL BEACH, CA — Los Alamitos and Seal Beach residents can pick up some free comics this Saturday at Amazing Comics and Cards in Long Beach and Westminster as part of Free Comic Book Day.

More than 2,000 stores around the country take part in Free Comic Book Day. The promotion began as a way to attract new readers to independent comic shops around the United States.

Amazing Comics and Cards has been open since 1989 and carries the "coolest selection of collectible products around," the store's website said.

Free Comic Book Day is now in its 20th year and is typically held on the first Saturday in May. This year's Free Comic Book Day coincides with the release of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" from Marvel Studios.

Around 50 comics made for Free Comic Book Day will be available on Saturday, and a list of the comics is available online.

The free comics feature characters such as Spider-Man, X-Men, and the Avengers from Marvel, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from IDW Publishing.

Individual stores may limit how many free comics each person may pick from each category. Each store may also have additional giveaways for the special occasion. Check with your location for details.
