Golden West Police Academy Under Investigation For Hazing: Report
Training officers at Golden West College's police academy face allegations of "improper, cruel and punitive" treatment of recruits.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — California officials are looking into allegations of hazing at Golden West College's police academy, the Orange County Register reported.
The state's Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training began its investigation on April 25 after receiving allegations that recruits have faced "improper, cruel and punitive" treatment from their training officers, the Register reported. College officials told the paper it was conducting its own investigation into the allegations.
The allegations stem from Sheddi Skeete, a 28-year law enforcement veteran and former training officer at the academy, the Register reported.

Some of the actions training officers have done, Skeete alleges, include forcing recruits to do push-ups to the point of collapse, dumping recruits' private property around a classroom and forcing them to forage for their items while being insulted by other officers and having the cars and lockers searched for no or superficial reasons, the Register reported.
