How Prepared Are You For Natural Disasters In Seal Beach?

To gather input from the local community, the city prepared a survey to help officials understand what concerns are important to residents.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The City of Seal Beach is planning to update its local hazard mitigation plan and is looking for community input to gauge how knowledgeable residents are about natural disasters.

The hazard mitigation plan provides a framework for our community to reduce vulnerability to natural hazard events like earthquakes, wildfires and human-caused hazards. At the same time, city officials are also preparing updates to a general safety element and an environmental justice element.

To gather input from the local community, the city prepared a survey to help officials understand what concerns are important to Seal Beach residents and how to reduce risks.

"The questionnaire is designed to help the City gauge the level of knowledge the community has about natural disasters and human-caused hazards, and to obtain your input about areas that may be vulnerable," officials said in a statement.
