Lean Group "Enough is Enough" Vigil -- Huntington Beach Police Will Help Keep Peace
After the Law Enforcement Accountability Network of Anaheim organized a candlelight vigil in Huntington Beach. Peaceful protest, police wary

Huntington Beach, CA--Huntington Beach police were bracing for a protest tonight at the city's pier that was planned by a law enforcement watchdog group prior to the deadly ambush in Dallas that claimed the lives of
five police officers.
The Law Enforcement Accountability Network -- an Anaheim-based organization -- posted a note on its Facebook page Thursday announcing a "Why Are You Killing us? Stop Police Brutality'' protest.
The group organized the gathering in response to the police shooting deaths of black men in Minnesota and Baton Rouge, as well as incidents closer to home, including conflicts between suspects and officers in Fullerton and Anaheim this week that led to one man's death and left another in a medically induced coma.

"We are going to have extra police presence downtown,'' said Officer Jennifer Marlatt. "Friday night in the summer, there's going to be a lot of people in the area, and most likely the odds are they can draw a crowd. Our job is to uphold their constitutional rights.
"They have a right to protest and we hope they do it peacefully and there's no violence and that their protest doesn't incite any violence, but you never know with that many people downtown,'' she said.

The LEAN group's Facebook page claims 22 people have been killed in police-involved conflicts over the past week alone and encourages residents to "join us to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH.''
The organization billed it as a "candlelight vigil and sand ceremony to mourn and grieve. Together we will ask for accountability and a stop to police terror.''
