Los Alamitos and Pacifica Garden Grove Head To D1 Girls Soccer Playoffs In 2022

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The CIF Southern Section Division 1 Girls Soccer brackets are out, leaving high schools across the southland scrambling to see where they fall in the coming playoffs.

In Los Alamitos, the lady Griffins girls soccer team is headed back for the 2022 playoff season.

Los Alamitos faces Saugus at home. Los Al finished at #1 in the Surf League with a record of 15-4-5. They will play at Saugus, who finished #3T in the Foothill League with a record of 10-4-3, in round 1 of the CIF-SS playoffs.

Pacifica Garden Grove will face Moorpark in round one in Moorpark. Pacifica Garden Grove finished at #2 in the Empire League, with a record of 8-4-3. Moorpark finished at #1 in the Coastal Canyon League, with a record of 11-5-1.

Games and times may vary and be updated in the first round of Division 1 CIF-SS playoffs.

The final CIF-SS Division 1 poll, released Tuesday, placed Santiago in the tops spot, Temecula Valley at #2 for the region with Harvard Westlake, last year's top winner, at #3.
