Parent And Me, Jr. Pee Wee Basketball Classes Open In Los Alamitos

Kids aged 2 to 5 years old will learn the basics of basketball during the five-week winter classes.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — Kids aged 2 to five years old are invited to learn the basics of basketball this winter with Parent and Me and Jr. Pee Wee classes.

The five-week clinic-style sessions will take place at the Oak Middle School Gym from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays. Classes are set to start Jan. 9 and end Feb. 6.

"Now is the time to shoot some hoops and get to dribbling," the city said.

During the sessions, Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department staff will cover fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Kids will engage in a variety of drills and skill-based games to help learn.

The resident price of the program is $65 and the non-resident price is $70. An award is included in the fee.

Registration for both programs will close on Thursday, Jan. 9
