Rainstorm This Week In Seal Beach: Where To Find Sandbags

SEAL BEACH, CA — Two rain storms are forecast to hit Seal Beach this week, bringing light to moderate rain amounts of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Rainfall is expected to arrive as early as Tuesday, but forecasters aren't predicting heavy downpour. More impactful rain is expected to arrive on Thursday into Friday, the National Weather Service said.

Early estimates for rainfall totals predict about an inch in coastal and valley regions and two to three inches in the foothills and mountains. Forecasters believe there is little risk that rain totals will be enough to cause debris flow in the burn scar areas.

For Seal Beach residents living in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding, sandbags are available at the following locations:

• Fire Station #44 - 8th St. & Central Ave.
• Fire Station #48 - 3131 Northgate Rd
• Arbor Park - 4665 Lampson Ave
• Marina Park - 1st St. & Marina Dr.

Residents are required to bring their IDs and can pick up a maximum of 10 bags. Those collecting sand were also urged to bring their own shovel or tools. Collecting sand from the beach is illegal.
