Seal Beach Pier Undergoing Restoration Due To Wear And Deterioration
Deterioration witnessed in various areas of the Seal Beach Pier will be addressed in restoration efforts starting next week.
SEAL BEACH, CA — The Seal Beach Pier will be undergoing repairs starting Monday due to wear and deterioration showing in the abutment area.
According to pier evaluation results in 2021, the abutment is showing wear and damage. The restoration project will address the main areas of concern such as cracking concrete, deterioration of exposed steel elements and worn surfaces caused by the corrosive marine environment.
"These conditions need to be addressed if the structure is to remain a viable component of the City’s identity," the city said.
