Seal Beach Police League Launches To Support Staff, Officers, Dogs
The Seal Beach Police Department announced it was partnering with the newly formed charitable organization to help the agency's personnel.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The Seal Beach Police Department announced Wednesday it is partnering with a recently launched nonprofit group geared toward helping the agency's personnel.
The Seal Beach Police League will help raise money in support of the "livelihood, morale and well-being of the city of Seal Beach's finest police officers, professional staff and ... their facility dog Yosa and police K9 Saurus," the department said.
Lt. Nick Nicholas, a department spokesman, said the police league will perform functions "beyond the city's budget capabilities or requirements for job performance."

Nicholas said some of the functions include promoting internal staff development through employee wellness and training, purchasing any necessary equipment the department would otherwise be unable to buy because of "budget constraints" and providing funding for the department's police facility dogs and K9 programs.
