SIG ALERT On 22 Freeway Slows 405, 605 After Morning Collisions
Commuters from Long Beach to Garden Grove driving the 22, 405 and 605 were at a standstill Thursday morning after multiple crashes.
SEAL BEACH, CA —California Highway Patrol initiated a SIGalert Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. after multiple crashes blocked lanes. Traffic was stalled well into Garden Grove according to drivers.
The closure on the Westbound 22, east of Valley View, was in the HOV lane and #1 lane, according to CHP.
The total lane closures were expected to last until 10 a.m., officials say.

As many as five SUVs were blocking the left two lanes of the westbound 22 freeway, according to officers. Another vehicle, a white Chevy Silverado, was disabled on the right-hand side of the freeway, according to reports from the scene. It was unknown what caused the initial crash, or if there were any serious injuries as of this report.
