Small Car Crashes Into Tunnel, Injures 1 On 605 Freeway In Seal Beach

The crash was reported at 1:43 p.m. on the freeway traveling southbound, near the Interstate 405 junction in Seal Beach.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Traffic on the State route 605 freeway traveling south took a turn for the congested, after a Chevrolet Spark crashed into the side of a tunnel and then a light pole, injuring at least one person and prompting authorities to issue a SigAlert Wednesday afternoon.

The status of the injured person is not known.

The crash was reported at 1:43 p.m. on the freeway's function to the southbound 405 freeway in Seal Beach. According to the California Highway Patrol, the right lane of the 605 freeway is blocked by the crash and at times both lanes will be blocked.

The SigAlert was issued at 2:13 p.m. and is expected to last an hour, authorities said.

Authorities asked motorists to steer clear of the area while the SigAlert is in place.
