Street Closures In Seal Beach Announced As Turkey Trot Nears

The Seal Beach Police Department announced a slew of road closures in anticipation of the annual Turkey Trot. What to know.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Hundreds of runners are preparing to take to the streets of Seal Beach to participate in the annual Turkey Trot 5K/10K this weekend.

In anticipation of the annual event, the Seal Beach Police Department announced a slew of road closures in the Old Town area of the city.

  • 4 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Main Street, both directions. Starting at Electric Avenue to Ocean Avenue.
  • 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Ocean Avenue, both directions. Starting at Electric Avenue to 10th Street.
  • 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Ocean Avenue, both directions. Starting at 1st Street to 8th Street.
  • 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Ocean Avenue, both directions. Starting at 10th Street to 8th Street.
  • 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Marina Drive, both directions. Starting at 1st Street to 8th Street.
  • 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.: 1st Street, north direction. Starting at Marina Drive to Welcome Lane.

The event starts and ends on Main Street at Central Avenue, and streets will be reopened for traffic as the last athletes pass an area.

Residents should allow extra time for travel due to the closures and possible traffic delays.

Commuters are prohibited from parking on the streets listed above. Vehicles along the race course may not be moved from closed streets during the race hours of 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.
