Woman Killed After Car Slams Into Her Home
Police said they believe the driver may have been under the influence at the time of the crash in Garden Grove.
GARDEN GROVE, CA — Police arrested a 35-year-old man in connection to a fatal crash into a home in Garden Grove early Sunday.
The crash happened in the 11800 block of Magnolia Street at about 1:55 a.m. on Sunday, police said. The suspect crashed a 2019 Toyota Camry into the home, killing 40-year-old resident Janet Carrillo, according to authorities.
Carillo was trapped by the vehicle that crashed into the house and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

At the scene, witnesses who called police pointed authorities in the direction that the suspect fled and he was arrested without incident. Police said the suspect is a resident of Riverside, but no additional information about the suspect was available.
Authorities said the suspect may have been under the influence at the time of the crash and they believe it appears to have contributed to the crash.
